
On which courses are you a tutor?
I teach some of the Leadership & Management level 2, free distance learning courses, including Principles of Team Leading, Business Improvement Techniques, Lean Organisation Management Techniques and Equality And Diversity. I also teach apprentices who are taking the Team Leading/Supervisor Standard.
Why did you become a tutor?
I chose to teach to help students gain a qualification and succeed in their chosen careers.
What do you think is the most interesting aspect of the courses you deliver?
I find all aspects of the courses I deliver interesting. They are all designed to support and challenge students in their knowledge, understanding and skills.
What experiences of your own do you bring to the courses?
I have managed barber shops and mentored new team members. I also have experience in delivering qualifications in a variety of settings and can tailor courses to the individual.
What do you love about working for Somerset Skills and Learning?
The best things about SS&L are the range of courses available, the variety of students completing them and my supportive team members.
What advice would you give to anyone considering your courses?
Sign up to them! They will assist you in your current role or support you when looking for new roles.
If you were stuck in a lift with someone, who would it be and why?
I don’t like going in lifts! If I did go in a lift and it got stuck, I would panic too much to hold a conversation.
What is your most annoying habit?
You would have to ask my husband…. I don’t think I have any annoying habits but he will probably say different!
