Chard WATCH reaches out and engages with isolated adults needing support. Anyone that joins the project can become a member and contribute to running the organisation democratically. They give members an elevated sense of confidence and empowerment by enabling them to take their own positive steps. Change comes from within and Chard WATCH help people fulfil their potential through workshops and activities like: art, reading, drama, personal awareness courses, IT, and most importantly peer relationships.
Founded in 2010 by peer members, they have built the project around their lived experience to help reach out and engage with other isolated and lonely people in the community. Members say that WATCH improves their confidence, makes them feel empowered, has introduced them to new friends and enabled them to take their own positive steps. People that join can expect to form new connections and feel a greater sense of belonging in their community.
The courses on offer enable members and other individuals to develop their confidence and learn valuable skills.
