Course overview

This workshop provides an opportunity to explore the basics of portrait drawing. You will create several drawings of a clothed, life model, combining a wide variety of mark making techniques, gaining experience and knowledge of how to achieve accurate observational drawings of the human form.

The process of making art is a great form of self-care and has many therapeutic benefits, which may help to reduce stress, promote positivity and support wellbeing.

Please ensure you have four sheets of white A4 or A3 paper with you when you attend this workshop, together with the following drawing materials - HB, 2B and B lead pencils with pencil sharpener. Alternatively, you may wish to explore drawing with artists willow charcoal, in two sizes, one medium and one thick stick. If using charcoal, please have ample protection for your work surface and clothing.

This workshop takes place online, live, via Zoom.
