Learn how to make a unique concertina keepsake book. Get crafty with our two-part workshop and create your own memory book full of secret pockets, compartments and pages to fill with something special.
Concertina books are simple to make and beautiful to look at, making them a great gift for loved ones. Custom design special pull-out pages with frames, pockets and spaces to fill with precious memories.
Our friendly tutor will talk you through everything you need to know in order to make your own concertina keepsake book. Grab a cuppa and join us for some crafty fun!
This workshop is run via Zoom and is a two-part workshop. Week 1 will focus on how to make the book, with week 2 being a chance to really go to town on personalising and decorating your creation.
This course is suitable for complete craft beginners and is a great way to learn something new with no pressure! You will need a strong internet connection in order to join the online workshop.
You will also need to have these materials to hand:
2 x thin cardboard – 11x15.5cm (a cut up cereal box is perfect!)
6 x A4 paper
Pritt stick or PVA glue
Sello-tape
Scissors
Ruler
A thin ribbon or string tie of around 1m+
Fine black pen/felt tip
Colouring pencils or felt tips – any fancy pens you have!
Anything you’d like to decorate your book with – decorative papers, lace, sequins etc.
You will need a large, clear space to work in. You may wish to consider protecting your surfaces from glue/paint etc, and having some damp cloth or kitchen roll at hand.

There is no formal assessment for this workshop.
On completion of this workshop, families may be interested in exploring the variety of free community learning opportunities available at SS&L – including more arts and crafts based activities.

This course is FREE for all B&NES and Somerset residents aged 19+, who have been living in the UK for over 3 years.
