This short, online workshop will give you a basic introduction to child development.
You will learn how practical, fun activities can be used to support the learning and development of the child.
You will be watching video clips, taking part in discussions and activities which will further your understanding of how children learn and develop.
You will leave with the confidence, knowledge and tools to apply what you have learnt to the daily living of children.
There are a number positive reasons to provide children opportunities through fun play to support with development. If you have a child, care for a child, or are interested in working with children, this workshop is for you.
This workshop will run online via Zoom.
There are no assessments or exams for this workshop.
Our Community Learning workshops and courses are designed to improve confidence, self-esteem, resilience and motivation. At the end of the workshop you will discuss with our experienced tutor how you can continue to expand on your learning. This may be activities to continue with, and/or signposting to other courses and workshops available within SS&L or external organisations.

There are no qualifications required for this workshop, just a willingness to learn.
This workshop will be delivered via Zoom so you will need to ensure you have access to IT on the day and are competent with using Zoom.
This course is free if you are aged over 19, live in Somerset or B&NES, and have lived in the UK/EU for the last three years
