Healthy Mums is a free 6 week online programme where mums to be and mums can learn how to achieve a healthy lifestyle for themselves and their little ones with likeminded others, as well as getting to try out exercise that is safe, adapted specifically for pregnant and post-natal women. Babies are welcome to join the sessions and we will include them where we can.
Sessions will run via Zoom on Wednesday mornings 9.45-10.45am from 16 June.
Your Instructor will be pre and post-natal trained exercise instructor Luisa Skinner. Topics will include the benefits of exercise, healthy diet, pelvic floor health and mental health and wellbeing.
There will be time to chat with other mums at the end, with lots of top tips for how to be a healthy, moving super mum.
No equipment is required, however a mat is optional if you have one, and access to a chair or wall for extra support is useful. Wear something comfortable and easy to move in and have a drink on hand.
For more info and resources to help you and baby get moving, visit our Somerset Activity & Sports Partnership - Healthy Mums (sasp.co.uk)
For more info contact Tiff (Coordinator) on TWood@sasp.co.uk or call 07722567244.
No formal course assessment. There will be an opportunity to ask questions along the way and the tutor will check for understanding.
After this course you will have the knowledge, skills and support network to support you to be more physically active and make healthier choices for the benefit of yourself and your family.
You can join our Moving Mums course where you will learn in more detail how exercise can support a healthy lifestyle for you and your family, and where you will do more exercise as part of each session than is covered in the foundation Healthy Mums course. Head to the Healthy Mums webpage or Facebook group to hear about upcoming courses.
You may also be interested in completing our Walk Leader Training programme where you can use your new knowledge and skills to improve the health and wellbeing of other mums in your community, and to bring mums together to offer support and gain the health and wellbeing benefits of spending time outdoors. If you are interested in finding out more head to our Somerset Health Walks webpage.
