This course is for anyone who’s interested in this energetic and beneficial style of walking for fitness. It will teach you how to Nordic walk properly and improve your all round health and wellbeing.
The course will take place on Feb 16th and 23rd for 2 hours on a Wednesday afternoon based outside in a Frome town park. Poles are provided free of charge.
Skills for Nordic walking will be taught progressively to help learners achieve realistic goals. Classes are run in a sociable atmosphere. No one gets left behind!
Nordic walking is a great way to lose weight. It’s a very effective workout because it works all the major muscle groups. Simply by getting out, Nordic walking gives many people a confidence boost. It’s an activity that improves mental health and a very good way to meet people.
There is no formal assessment for this course.
As our workshops and courses are designed to meet your needs, our tutor will contact you by telephone before the workshop for an informal chat about what the course entails, and how we can make sure you get the most out of it.
Our Community Learning workshops and courses are designed to improve confidence, self-esteem, resilience and motivation. At the end of the workshop you will discuss with our experienced tutor, how you can continue to expand on your learning. This may be activities to continue with what you have learnt, and/or signposting to other courses and workshops available within SS&L or external organisations.

Need to know…
There are no qualifications or prior experience required for this course, just a willingness to learn.
The course will be delivered outside. Learners will be required to fill out a physical activity readiness questionnaire beforehand.
This workshop is free to learners aged over 19, who live in Somerset and have lived in the UK/EU for the last three years.
