Course overview

This workshop is for anyone interested in learning about special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

During this friendly and relaxed session, you can learn about specific conditions, such as ADHD, autism and dyslexia and how they might present in children and adults. Find out just how diverse these, and other conditions can be and how we can best support people that have them.

This session will include information about where to get support, where to find out more, and how to get a diagnosis for yourself, your child or someone you care for. We’ll also look at the benefits and drawbacks of a diagnosis and consider what avenues might be best for the individual.

With opportunities to ask questions you have about SEND, share your experiences and learn from others, this workshop will give you a good overview of the subject of SEND.

There is no formal assessment for this course. Your tutor will provide regular feedback.

At the end of this workshop, if you’d like to continue with your learning in this subject, you’ll be able to progress onto our Starter Level workshop or course.
