This Level 3 Certificate in Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools is aimed at support workers and teaching assistants in schools who directly support teachers in the teaching and learning of pupils.
This qualification provides the knowledge and understanding needed to work directly with children or young people in schools.
Learners will support the assessment for learning, developing relationships, promoting equality and diversity and understanding how to safeguard the wellbeing of children and young people.
Your dedicated expert tutor will deliver this course one stage at a time via online delivery and support sessions, allowing you to focus on each subject area of practice in detail. SS&L can also offer 121 online and face-to-face support sessions throughout your programme.
Your dedicated personal tutor will guide and mentor you through your learning programme.
Your dedicated personal tutor will support you through assessing your work and provide you with constructive feedback regularly, to help you produce the standard of evidence required for this qualification.
Learners must complete a total of 32 mandatory credits to achieve this qualification.
During your course you will complete all workbooks and coursework to the correct standard to evidence and achieve this award. Additional activities in this course include assignments, observations, review, witness records, reflective accounts.
On achievement of this qualification, learners will gain experience and knowledge of the education system and support provided in schools in order to train further as a SENCO, specialist support worker or go on to a teaching role.
Once you have achieved this course you can access the wide variety of SS&L courses.
To study for this qualification, you will need to be working or volunteering in a school as a Teaching Assistant for at least 15+ hours.
You should have experience of completing a Level 2 qualification in a School or Education related subject area, but this is not essential.
Learners should ideally have the equivalent of Level 2 literacy skills, however, a formal qualification is not required as this will be assessed prior to starting the course.
To join this course, you will need access to an internet enabled device like a PC, laptop, smart phone or tablet. Please talk to us if you do not have access to any of these devices.
The coursework for this award can be completed electronically or manually. Those learners with access to a PC, laptop or tablet with Microsoft Windows or Apple software should be able to access the editable workbooks required for the course evidence.
Learner Loan Eligibility - You must be 19 or older on the first day of your course.
Your course must be:
· a Level 3, 4, 5 or 6 qualification, for example A Levels or graduate certificate
· at an approved college or training provider in England
Ask your college or training provider if you do not know if your course is eligible.
Your nationality or residency status - In most cases, all of the following must apply. You must:
· be living in the UK on the first day of your course
· be a UK national or have ‘settled status’ (this means there are no restrictions on how long you can stay)
· have been living in the UK for 3 years before starting your course
