Course overview

This course is a gentle "whole person" approach to being job ready. During the course, we will explore confidence, self-belief and resilience, and how to build these, in relation to progressing towards work.

We will also identify what is holding you back from making the move into work and ways to plan small steps that do not feel overwhelming.

We will work on identifying the skills, experience, strengths and attributes that you have, and use as part of your daily life and how these can be transferable into working situations, but also areas that you would like to improve.

We will discuss ways of improving or learning new skills or gaining work experience in an area of interest.

You will learn how to demonstrate your skills, experience and strengths concerning job applications and interviews.

As you become more confident, we will also explore techniques and tricks to appear and feel more confident and master interview nerves.

Course assessment

There are no formal assessments for this course. The tutor will give regular feedback to help you improve.

At the end of this course, if you’d like to continue with your learning in this subject, you’ll be able to progress onto our Developer Level workshop or course.
