“ If you can walk you can Nordic Walk.”
Nordic walking is suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels and this class is for absolute beginners. Our classes range from gentle walks for people with health concerns, to workout walks, which are a great way to improve fitness, lose weight and tone the whole body.
Nordic Walking uses specially designed poles that harness the power of the upper body to propel you forward as you walk, the poles provide support for the joints and muscles and activates 90% of the muscles in your body so you will get a full body workout.
This style of walking is based on the natural and fluid movements of walking so will help to improve posture. Doing regular exercise releases endorphins which can help us to feel happy, healthy and more energised. It can also help to regulate mood and decrease anxiety. You will be spending time outdoors connecting with nature and your surroundings.
Classes are run in a sociable atmosphere. No one gets left behind! It is an activity that improves mental health and a very good way to meet people.
There are no formal assessments for this course. The tutor will give regular feedback to help you improve.
