This short online workshop is for Parents or people interested in early years, looking for more information on supporting children with outdoor play and risky play.
It will cover the benefits outdoor play has on children’s development, and how to support risky play with children
You will explore different activity ideas to support outdoor play, and learn how to overcome some barriers you may face.
This workshop will run online via Zoom.
As the lockdown restrictions lift and Spring arrives, what better way to be prepared for providing outdoor play to children, whilst understanding the positive effects this has on child development.
There are no assessments or exams for this workshop.
Our Community Learning workshops and courses are designed to improve confidence, self-esteem, resilience and motivation. At the end of the workshop you will discuss with our experienced tutor, how you can continue to expand on your learning. This may be activities to continue with what you have learnt, and/or signposting to other courses and workshops available within SS&L or external organisations.

There are no qualifications required for this workshop, just a willingness to learn.
This workshop will be delivered via Zoom so you will need to ensure you have access to IT on the day and are competent with using Zoom.
This course is free if you are aged over 19, live in Somerset or B&NES, and have lived in the UK/EU for the last three years
