Health Advice & Guidance – Coronavirus
At SS&L we take the health and wellbeing of students, staff and visitors extremely seriously and to this end, we are monitoring the coronavirus infection very closely and following the information provided by the Government.
We are taking all of the sensible preventive measures you would expect of us to ensure that our learning environments remain a safe place to learn.
24th March Update 09:00
Further to the Prime Ministers announcement yesterday, all SS&L centres will continue to remain closed. Exams scheduled to take place in the next few weeks are cancelled.
All of the SS&L team are now working from home and your tutor is available at the end of the phone, on email or via our digital classroom to support you. All of our planned classes and courses will continue to be delivered via distance learning where possible.
To get in touch with us during this this time, please email enquiries@sslcourses.co.uk or connect with us on social media or via our website. Please note our main 0330 332 7997 will not be answered whilst our centres remain closed so we recommend contacting us via email, our website or on social media channels.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will post further updates to this page.
19th March Update 09:00
Following the Prime Minister’s announcement yesterday, classroom delivery will be suspended from the end of the day this Friday.
We have been making preparations for this potential announcement in recent days and have a plan in place for all delivery to continue remotely through distance learning.
This will mean your tutor will be there for you at the end of the phone, email or via our digital classroom. Your tutor will be in touch with you in the coming days to update you on how this will work.
For those who have planned exams during week commencing the 23rd March, these are still scheduled to go ahead at this time.
Our centres will be closed for teaching but you can still get in touch with us via our website or by calling 0330 332 7997.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will post further updates to this page.
17th March Update
Self isolation update – If individuals have either a high temperature and/or a new continuous cough they and those they live with should stay at home for 14 days. This applies to everyone.
Following the government briefing on 16 March, we are open as normal today. However, we will be moving to a distance learning method of learning in the coming days, to continue to support you during your course if our centres are required to close.
Our goal is to enable as many of you as possible to continue learning successfully and your tutor will be in touch with an update on how this will be delivered and notify you of any changes to planned delivery at our centres.
These are difficult and ever changing times but, as always, we are here to support you and help you succeed. Should you have any concerns or questions please contact your tutor.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will post further updates to this page.
13th March Update
At present we are operating a ‘business as normal basis’, whilst closely following advice and information issued by the Government and the Department of Education, on a daily basis.
We continue to follow the guidelines regarding anyone returning from a category one or two area and, in addition, anyone exhibiting the following symptoms should self-isolate for 7 days:
- A new persistent cough and/or
- A fever
If you have symptoms of coronavirus infection (COVID-19), however mild, do not leave your home for 7 days from when your symptoms started. We also ask that you inform your tutor by email or call us on 0330 332 7997.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will post further updates to this page.
