Course Overview
Develop the essential skills and knowledge needed to succeed in Early Years care and education with our intensive 8-week Skills Bootcamp. Designed for those looking to start or progress in childcare, this course provides practical training, expert guidance, and a guaranteed interview at the end.
Our Skills Bootcamp in Early Years is designed to give you the confidence and expertise to thrive in a childcare setting.
You will:
- Learn about child development
- Master safeguarding, and health and safety practices
- Gain the opportunity to complete a certificate in Paediatric First Aid (PFA)
- Gain the opportunity to work towards Level 2 Food Hygiene and Level 2 Safeguarding Certificates
- Receive support with your DBS application
- Learn how to create engaging and supportive environments for young learners
- Build strong communication and teamwork skills
- Gain real-world practical experience
With our extensive expertise in Early Years training and direct experience running nurseries, we provide the practical knowledge and support you need to take the next step in your career.

Duration: The course runs for 8 weeks
Start Date: May 2025
Assessment
Learners are assessed through assignments.
There are no exams for this course.
Fee Information and Eligibility
Your training is fully funded by contributions from the government.
If you are a current member of staff, your employer may be asked to make a small contribution towards your training. We can provide all the details and guide you through the process when you contact us.
In order to be eligible for a free Skills Bootcamps course funded by the Department of Education you must meet the following criteria:
- You live in Somerset, Dorset or Wiltshire and have the right to work in the United Kingdom
- You were aged 19 or over on the 31st August 2024
- You have a National Insurance Number
- You are required to attend all planned live online learning session per week to meet the required guided learning hours, plus additional learning
- You have a reliable internet connection and computer
- You don’t need any prior knowledge on the course subject, just the willingness to learn and the commitment to your studies!
Progression
After completing our Skills Bootcamp in Early Years we will help you to find employment by setting you up with an interview or encouraging job progression.
