What are Skills Bootcamps?
Skills Bootcamps are short, intensive courses designed to give you essential skills for the workplace. In just 8 weeks, you’ll gain valuable knowledge and experience in Early Years education, preparing you for job roles in nurseries, preschools, and other childcare settings. Plus, you’ll be guaranteed an interview at the end of the course, giving you a fantastic opportunity to step into your chosen career with confidence.
What is covered in the course?
Our Skills Bootcamp in Early Years will cover key areas you need to thrive in a childcare setting, including:
- Child development
- Safeguarding and health and safety
- Certificates in Paediatric First Aid (PFA) and Food Hygiene
- Support with DBS application
- Creating a supportive and engaging environment for young learners
- Communication and teamwork skills
- Real-world practical experience
With our strong background in Early Years training and hands-on experience running nurseries, we’ll provide you with insights and skills that set you apart.
Duration
The course runs for 8 weeks
Start Date: January 2025
Eligibility
In order to be eligible for a free Skills Bootcamps course funded by the Department of Education you must meet the following criteria:
- You live in Somerset, Dorset or Wiltshire and have the right to work in the United Kingdom
- You were aged 19 or over on the 31st August 2024
- You have a National Insurance Number
- You are required to attend all planned live online learning session per week to meet the required guided learning hours, plus additional learning
- You have a reliable internet connection and computer
- You don’t need any prior knowledge on the course subject, just the willingness to learn and the commitment to your studies!
Fee Information
Your training is fully funded by contributions from the government.
If you are a current member of staff at an Early Years setting, your employer may be asked to make a small contribution towards your training. We can provide all the details and guide you though the process when you contact us.
Progression
After completing our Skills Bootcamp in Early Years we will help you to find employment by setting you up with an interview or encouraging job progression.
