This hospitality customer service course can be fully funded (FREE) for people aged 19 or over who:

  • live in Somerset (not including Bath & North-East Somerset/North Somerset) or Dorset
  • have lived in the UK/EU for the last 3 years or have leave to remain
  • meet at least one of the following:
    • are employed with an annual income of less than £25,000
    • are unemployed AND in receipt of benefits.
    • have no qualifications of level 2 or above

Proof of eligibility will be requested.

Entry Requirements

There are no specific prior qualifications needed to access this qualification. You should ideally have the equivalent of Level 1 literacy skills, however, a formal qualification is not required as this will be assessed prior to starting the course. You will need access to the internet and a computer/laptop to complete the coursework.

  • You must currently live in Somerset/Dorset.
  • You must have been resident in the UK/EU for 3+ years, for purposes other than study.
  • You must be over the age of 19.
  • You must not be on an apprenticeship.

There is a £100 cancellation fee if you enrol and do not complete or withdraw from the course. This fee is to cover administration costs.

Assessment

This is an online distance-learning course. It is a Level 2 course. You will receive a log in for online resources book and then you answers the questions online. You should have a willingness to complete this course online so will need access to a computer. You will have a named tutor in case you have any questions throughout the course.

You will be assessed by your tutor or assessor using a range of methods. This could include a portfolio of evidence, written assignments or a task. The course is assessed via coursework, there are no exams.

Progression

You may wish to attend our other workshops and courses related to your personal development or access our Adult Skills courses.

Learners who achieve this qualification could progress onto a hospitality or catering apprenticeship, Level 3 Award in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership Principles, Level 3 Certificate in Retail Knowledge, or Level 3 Diploma in Hospitality.
