Apprentice of the month – April 2021

Congratulations to Ellie, our Apprentice of the Month winner for April!

Ellie began her learning journey with us in 2018 where she studied for the Level 2 Apprenticeship in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools. After successfully achieving the Level 2 Certificate, Ellie progressed onto the Level 3 Teaching Assistant Standards with the continued support of Creech St Michael Primary School.

Ellie’s journey has had many challenges including adapting her professional development around the current lock down situation, balancing her continued work and study life. She has continued to demonstrate determination within her professional journey focussing on her main goals.

Marian Porter, Ellie’s tutor at SS&L, says, “It has been remarkable to observe the progression Ellie has made as a professional Teaching Assistant throughout her learning journey. She has progressed from shadowing experienced members of staff within her practice to now leading and delivering intervention support within the school setting.”

Her mentor, Lou Morris, class teacher from Creech St Michael Primary School, says, “We are very lucky to have Ellie. She has made the whole process of being a mentor very easy as she is an independent learner who has set her own professional and personal targets for her development. Ellie has worked hard and has earned this award as Apprentice of the Month.

Ellie is very grateful and thanks the school and SS&L for the support she’s been given. Well done to Ellie and we wish her every success in her future career!
