Different location, same aims…
We’re excited to announce our relocation from Blackbrook Business Park, on the outskirts of Taunton to The Albemarle in the heart of Taunton. Classes will begin on 10 July at The Albemarle and our move is already getting underway.
Why are we moving?
As a not-for-profit company, we engage with around 4000 learners every year through the delivery of our courses and workshops. For us to be as accessible to as many people as possible, we feel it’s essential that we’re part of the communities our learners live in. With this in mind, we have recently reviewed the location of our centres and recognise that Courtenay House, while easily accessible by car, is not ideal being located on the outskirts of Taunton.
We have an established relationship with Taunton’s Albemarle, a registered charity sharing the same ethos of bringing people and communities together. The Albemarle is located in the centre of Taunton, making it more accessible to all our learners.
Kathryn Baker, CEO at SS&L says, “I think The Albemarle is a fantastic base for SS&L in the centre of Taunton. I’m excited to see how our relationship evolves over the next few years, bringing people and communities together to change lives through learning.”
More about The Albemarle
The Albemarle is fully accessible, with bright, airy rooms and high-speed broadband, just a very short walk from Taunton town centre. The Albemarle Meeting Place Cafe offers great refreshments and a cosy and welcoming environment. It’s a great place to meet and chat, and now we’re going to be based there – to learn too! Visit Albemarle to explore more.
David Joslin, Director at The Albemarle says, “Having enjoyed working alongside SS&L many times, their move to The Albemarle is a natural progression. We’re delighted with this opportunity to further our mutual collaboration, for the benefit of all who use the fantastic community resources here on Taunton’s doorstep.”
Any questions?
While we’re confident our new location at The Albemarle will be more accessible to the majority of our learners, there will be a few who find the new location less convenient. We’re committed to minimising any negative impact the change will have and appreciate that everyone’s needs are different.
If you’re studying with us, you will have had the opportunity to complete a survey regarding the new location so we can address any worries you have, and we also encourage you to speak to your tutor about any challenges the move might have for you. We want to support you and ensure you’re able to continue to attend your course and achieve your learning and career aspirations. After speaking to your tutor, if you’d like more information, please email us at enquiries@sslcourses.co.uk
We look forward to seeing you at our new location in July!
