Meeting The Teaching Assistants Of The Future π
Last week was National Teaching Assistants’ Day βTo celebrate, we spoke with some of our Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprentices in Frome to find out why TAs are so vital.Β
While some had their own reasons for embarking on a career in education, all of them agreed that it was a privilege to be a positive influence on children’s lives.Β
“TAs are important because those students who struggle more need that extra support teachers aren’t able to give them,” said Isabelle. “I really enjoy working with these students and supporting them. At the end of the day, you’re moulding them to be the best that they can be.”
Aaron, who has only recently started as an apprentice, has changed careers to be able to offer this kind of support. “I really wanted a role that was diverse, but also working with kids; building their confidence and helping them to achieve,” he told us. “[Being a TA] is a very rewarding role. You’re contributing to the students’ education and their outlook on life and being a good role model. I think it’s really important to have a good role model.”
We think Alex probably said it best when she told us, “I became a TA because I like to help children thrive, and to be the best they can be!”Β
