October Courses and Workshops are here!
Family Learning This Month with SS&L
We know that learning together as a family creates memories that last a lifetime and helps little ones grow in confidence, skills and curiosity. That’s why this October we’re excited to bring you a series of fun, free and affordable courses designed especially for parents, carers and children to enjoy together.
Whether you love crafts, cooking, stories, or simply spending time outdoors, our Family Learning courses give you the chance to connect, learn and grow as a family.
Seasonal Crafts: Learning Together (Early Years)
Explore the wonders of autumn with your little one through messy play, foraging, outdoor arts & crafts and more. Parents and carers will also discover how these activities support children’s development through the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). You’ll take home creations, ideas and confidence to continue the fun at home.

Family Cooking: Seasonal Cooks & Bakes
Cook up tasty treats with your children aged 5+. Over three weeks, you’ll create family-friendly recipes like pesto snails, cheese & broccoli scones and mini pizzas. Learn simple, healthy skills together and enjoy quality family time in the kitchen.

Story Explorers: Room on the Broom (Half Term Taster)
Celebrate the spooky season at Frome Library on Friday 31 October, 10 am – 12 pm. Through storytelling, crafts and drama, children (ages 2–8) will explore teamwork, creativity and imagination.
No booking required, just turn up and join the fun!
