SS&L Apprentice of the Month – August 2026

Our Apprentice of the Month for August is Level 3 Business Administration Apprentice, Louisa 🎉🎉

Employed at Lloyd & Whyte in Taunton, Louisa was nominated by her SS&L tutor Chris, who says:

“I nominated Louisa because she consistently brings a great attitude to every session. She’s engaged, positive, and a pleasure to teach. In my eyes, she’s exactly the kind of apprentice this award is meant to recognise.”

Launching a career

Despite only starting her apprenticeship in January this year, Louisa has fast-tracked to success in her new career.

“I applied for the apprenticeship as I wanted to gain new knowledge and skills I could use in the workplace right away,” she explains. “I’m surprised by how much I’m learning in such a short time! I’m continuing to learn skills, knowledge, and behaviours that are transferable to my workplace, and I continue to keep learning more.”

Tutor Chris agrees, saying, “in the short time she’s been on the apprenticeship, Louisa’s growth has been genuinely amazing to see. She’s developing both her confidence and her ability at a real pace!”

Support and encouragement

While it’s obvious Louisa has made a fantastic start to her career, she says it hasn’t happened in a bubble:

“The support from SS&L, my tutor Chris, and my colleagues has been fantastic. I feel genuinely supported and like all three care about my progress and wellbeing. I love how I am encouraged to participate in discussions and communicate answers of the activities I complete with peers on the course to share our knowledge. ”

As Lloyd & Whyte have previously won Employer of the Month, we had no doubts Louisa would be on a path to success. But feedback from colleagues has been particularly impressive!

One colleague has said of her: “Louisa has really grown in confidence. This is no easy feat as she moves to experience different functions of our business every 2-3 months. She works with a different group of people on a regular basis. She’s a fantastic asset to whichever team she is in. Very deserving of Apprentice of the Month!”

A bright future

For now, Louisa is looking forward to learning more on the apprenticeship.

“I am enjoying the structure of the course and I like the way we’re learning the content,” she tells us. “I would recommend the Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship to anyone looking to start their career!”

“My plan for the future is to finish the apprenticeship and hopefully gain a permanent role in the business.”
