Challenging behaviour can have a big impact on individuals and those around them. This qualification is designed to increase your awareness and understanding of behaviour that challenges, its causes, and its effects.

By completing the course, you’ll develop in-depth knowledge that could support your progression onto further qualifications or into relevant roles within health and social care. It’s also beneficial for those working in education settings.

Fee Information

Cost: £0 – £1092 

This course can be fully funded (FREE) for people aged 19 or over who:

  • live in Somerset (not including Bath & North-East Somerset/North Somerset) or Dorset
  • have lived in the UK/EU for the last 3 years or have leave to remain
  • meet at least one of the following:
    • are employed with an annual income of less than £25,000
    • are unemployed AND in receipt of benefits.
    • have no qualifications of level 2 or above

Proof of eligibility will be requested.

There is a £100 cancellation fee if you enrol and do not complete or withdraw from the course. This fee is to cover administration costs.

Entry Requirements

There are no specific prior qualifications needed to access this qualification, although you may find it useful to have previously achieved a Level 1 qualification in a health, social care or mental-health related area. You should ideally have the equivalent of Level 1 literacy skills, however, a formal qualification is not required as this will be assessed prior to starting the course. You will need access to the internet and a computer/laptop to complete the coursework.

Assessment

To achieve the Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Behaviour that Challenges, learners must successfully demonstrate their achievement of all learning outcomes and assessment criteria of the units as detailed in the qualification specification.

You will be assessed by your tutor or assessor using a range of methods. This could include a portfolio of evidence, written assignments or a task. The course is assessed via coursework, there are no exams.

Progression

By completing the course, you’ll develop in-depth knowledge that could support your progression onto further qualifications or into relevant roles within health and social care. It’s also beneficial for those working in education settings.
