SS&L’s July Courses and Workshops are here!
Our July courses and workshops have arrived! We’ve got plenty of ways to make the most of the summer weather this month.
Connect with nature by Sketching at Hestercombe Gardens, work on your cooking skills, learn to make the most of your finances, or extend your knowledge of autism and neurodiversity.
A huge range of art courses and workshops are available this month, including an Art and Design Enhancer course, Art for Building Confidence options, and Emotional Wellbeing Through Art sessions.
Want to become a better cook? Join us for our Healthy Eating on a Budget Enhancer course to understand how to craft tasty meals without breaking the bank. If you’re interested in fermented foods, we’ll teach you how to create foods like sauerkraut and kimchi in our Let’s Ferment workshop.
However you decide to spend your July with us, our expert tutors will be here to support you on your learning journey.

Choose the right course for you with our levels system
- Taster – Short workshop suitable for beginners and no longer than one day in duration. Designed to provide an overview or intro to a subject. Suitable for learners who wish to gain insight to the subject and see if it’s for them.
- Starter – Beginner level workshop/course, which explores the basics of a subject. Suitable for learners who know they wish to learn about the chosen subject but don’t yet have knowledge and experience.
- Developer – Suitable for learners who have completed a Starter Level in the chosen subject or within a similar subject area, and who wish to progress and explore the subject in more depth.
- Enhancer – Suitable for those who have completed a Developer Level and wish to explore further and learn more extensively.
OUR FUNDING RULES HAVE CHANGED – HOW THIS AFFECTS YOU…
You can only enrol on ONE free* workshop/course at each level, e.g. one Taster, one Starter… and so on. Our levels are designed to encourage you to learn and progress in your chosen area of interest.
If you enrol on multiple workshops/courses at the same level, we’ll contact you to discuss (as there are exceptions), or you’ll be given the opportunity to pay for your place, (costs are detailed on each course page).
