SS&L Apprentice of the Month – July 2026
“There were times when she just didn’t think she could do it but due to her incredible perseverance, determination and acceptance of help and support, she has achieved amazing success.”
Today we’re celebrating Apprentice of the Month Tilda, who has just achieved a distinction in her Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship while working at St Margaret’s CEVA Primary School 🙌
Nominated by her SS&L Tutor, Lou, who says:
“Tilda has worked extremely hard during her Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship journey; overcoming some very difficult personal and learning challenges.”
Growth and development
“I applied for this apprenticeship to develop my skills and build my confidence while learning on the job,” says Tilda. “I’ve enjoyed seeing my confidence grow as I learn new skills.”
We also caught up with Tilda’s mentor and class teacher at St Margrets, Oliver. Thrilled for Tilda’s award, he tells us:
“She is always very hardworking in school and, over the last two years, built up a fantastic rapport with the children she has worked with. She shows determination, creativity, and has become a valued member of the school team. We are all delighted with her distinction grade – she definitely deserves it, and being recognised as Apprentice of the Month!”
Overcoming challenges
Tilda’s journey was not a straightforward one, with challenges met along the way. “There were times when she just didn’t think she could do it,” tutor Lou explains. “Tilda has worked extremely hard during her apprenticeship journey; overcoming some very difficult personal and learning challenges. But due to her incredible perseverance, determination and acceptance of help and support, she has achieved amazing success.”
Tilda is grateful for the support she has received, saying: “At the start I struggled, but with support and encouragement from my tutor Lou, I felt supported throughout my journey. The extra support also helped me feel prepared and ready for my End Point Assessment. I’m grateful for all the support I’ve received and look forward to continuing to develop my skills in the future.”
Lou continues: “Not only has Tilda gained a distinction for her End Point Assessment, but she has grown and developed into an outstanding practitioner! She is a very worthy winner of the Apprentice of the Month award.”
