Develop a Green Lead within your existing team.

This pathway within the Level 5 Specialist Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship enables a teaching assistant to take structured responsibility for environmental literacy and sustainability across your school.

It it not an add-on initiative. It’s a national recognised qualification applied with a clear purpose.

Apprentices build the knowledge and leadership capability to support curriculum development, lead practical sustainability projects and contribute to whole-school priorities.

Learning is work-based and supported by a dedicated tutor. Schools can see progress throughout and impact is developed in real-time, within your setting.

Who is This Course For?

This pathway is suited to schools that want sustainability to be embedded in everyday practice.

It is designed for experienced teaching assistants ready to step into focused leadership, with the structure and support to do it well.

Multi-academy trusts and senior teams can shape the focus to align with wider strategy and individual schools can tailor projects to their current context and community.

The pathway strengthens curriculum implementation and leadership capacity in a way that is visible, measurable and sustainable.

Programme Delivery & Entry Requirements

  • Typically Level 3 qualification or relevant experience

  • English and maths requirements will be discussed; support is provided if needed

  • Motivated teaching assistants ready to develop leadership skills

Fee Information

  • Levy-funded for eligible schools

  • 95% government-funded for non-levy schools (5% employer contribution)

  • Our team supports employers through the funding process
